Hi All,

I recently built a new computer and opened up one of my assemblies. I found that solidworks had automatically updated a few of the materials to the new default for my installation. Is there any way to set it up so that Solidworks doesn't do that? I would rather it just showed an error and allow me to fix it.

Thanks

SolidWorks has drastically changed how colors are applied and used in SolidWorks and has been aggravating for many people. I believe in 2010 SolidWorks asks you a question about creating display states for old colors or photoworks colors settings. If you still have 2009 installed look for the colors file *.sldclr I'd recommend using a non default install directory for these and other File Locations settings files to avoid issues like this.

C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\lang\english\colorswatches

Another thing to try would be to use the Convert Files option in SolidWorks Task Scheduler to do the update and see if that makes a difference.
