Random variables / statistical parameters of materials

Hi;
I would like to conduct a FEA of a structure using a probabilistic approach.
Is it possible in Abaqus?
If yes, how to input statistical parameters of materials (mean value, variance, bias factor ...) to Abaqus?

[FEA way]

There are no built-in tools for that in Abaqus but you could use subroutines and maybe scripting. Also, Isight software can be easily coupled with Abaqus and offers methods such as Monte Carlo.

Abaqus is a finite element code so it is deterministic. I am not sure how subroutines will help but you could parameterize various inputs and run Abaqus over and over until you cover a design space OR you could come up with a transfer function and then run some probablistic script/code/.. on that transfer function.
