Hello,
I am designing bumper (which is made of elastomer) for a sensor for aircraft which is subjected to random vibration. I have to calculate the total load acting on the bumper for worst case scenario to be able to design the bumper. I have the acceleration PSD and rms acceleration values for the particular zone on the aircraft where the sensor is placed. Can I now just multiply the total mass of the sensor with peak rms acceleration at that particular zone to get the total force acting on the bumper?
Thanks,
Dinesh
