Does anybody have any information about this topic?
The details as follows:
(Finished) hot rolled coils at a temperature of ~500°C are put in a basin in which in about 5 min. water is filled (water temperature 45°C)-so that the coils are completely covered by water and so cooled down up to a temperature of about 100°C.)
Steel grades:
-Structural steels for black rolled sheets, as:
St22, StW22, St23, StW23, St24, StW24, St34-2, S185, St37-2, St42-2, St50-2, St60-2, St37-3, St44-3, St52-3
-HSLA steels (cold forming micro-alloyed)
-Weather resistant steels
-Pressure vessels
Which are of the following steel grades are sensitive to a rapid hot rolled coil quenching system?
Which ones may cause "troubles" after this treatment (concerning residual stress)?
Thanks for help!
