I'm spec-ing out a new mid-range SWX workstation and I'm not sure how to choose among the myriad of SWX-Certified cards out there.

Is it just a matter of picking one that's certified or are some cards better than others in terms of noticeable performance? How does one justify the significant price differences in terms of performance?

Read up on some CAD sites and magazines (Cadalyst, Desktop Engineer, etc). The nVidia series has a lot of bang for the buck.

Depends on your specific needs. I use an nVidia FX 500 and it works great.

This is one of the most important elements when running SolidWorks, so spend the money and do it right. It will only save you money in production gains. Trust me.
