We have a radiator port that is specified as "dia. 35 Rc 1/2" I'm not familar with this specification. Can anyone tell me what it means and where I can purchase a fitting to fit it?

Sincerely

Hello,

I think this is a matter of context. Perhaps some commas are missing from the specification? The "dia." may refer to the term that preceeds it. Thr Rc may refer to a "Rockwell "C" scale" (and if so, you may be looking at a high grade hardened alloy steel (Rc 35 - 40)). The 1/2 may be part of the following term. That is my best guess.

Anyone else?

Regards, John.

Thanks John,

Actually, I finally got a bit information on it after some search through the internet. It turns out Rc is an ISO thread code. R is taperred male thread and Rc is taperred female thread. 1/2 is, well, 1/2". This is of course based on British Standard Pipe Thread (BSPT, now that's a familiar term). As for the dia. 35, I have no clue why it's there. Thanks for you suggestion though.

sincerely
