The conditions shown above, meant for limiting lateral buckling in T-shaped beams, are from a very popular RC book in Spain, popularly known as the "Jiménez Montoya", where all terms are defined in the book, except for hs (hf is the flanges thickness, h is the beam total depth, bw is the web thickness, b is the effective width, b1 is (b-bw)/2, and lb is the distance between braced points along the beam length... but no definition for hs).

It really looks that they meant hf when they wrote hs, but... have you seen these (or similar) expressions in another book, or in some building code, so that I can confirm if actually hs should be hf?

In the same pages there are also tables which I've heard came from a CEB-FIP research performed on T-beams, so maybe these expressions also come from there, but I don't know (nor have the exact reference to such research).

Thanks a lot!!

Nevermind: just got the confirmation that hs is actually hf (it's a typo in modern editions of the book, while it was supposedly correct in older editions).
