Re-labeling different instances of the same part/configuration 2

How do you do this again? I used to know, several versions ago, and my help questions aren't specific enough to get me the correct answer. (Maybe I just came up with a band-aid solution.)

I usually use SW Explorer for any renaming/replacing.

Hmm. Yeah pack-n-go. No, I don't want to re-name the parts - just re-name the 'instances' of each part. Can SolidWorks Explorer do that for me too?

If you mean the instance number (e.g. PartName<5> to be renamed PartName<3>), you can't ... unless an API macro can somehow access that parameter ... but I doubt it.
