Gentlemen,

I wrongly loaned my copy of MIL-HDBK-5E to a coworker which since time disappeared. Any suggestions about how I might procure a replacement copy?

You can download the MIL spec for free from

Click on quick search and find the document number 5. Search for MIL-HDBK-5 (I think G is the latest rev) and keep clicking until you can save the pdf file. Print at your leasure.

Be warned that the file is huge. I had to attempt the download several times before it was successful due to network traffic. If you download in the middle of the night, you'll have better luck. You may also want to try the download software aids.

Instead of downloading MIL-HDBK-5H as the full 40 MB file mentioned by Kenneth (a slow download if you only need to see a couple of pages), I downloaded any MIL-HDBK-5H section(s) I wanted, separately, at under "MIL-HDBK-5H." You just look in the table of contents for whichever metal you need and click. This might save you some time."
