Greetings!
Recently I created a macro for faster surface finish symbol application. We mainly use 3 grades of surface finish in our drawings: 0.8 for grinding, 1.6 for precision milling and 3.2 when surface roughness doesn't really matter. I dedicated one button to each grade so there is no need for manually clicking through all the settings, the user just places the symbol where he wants it.
I would like to make a little enhancement. The letter size is not always the same in our drawings. I would like to read this in my macro, and automatically set the surface finish symbol to the same size as the letter size. This wouldn't be a problem with journal, but in NX6 I'm only able to record the surface finish symbol command when I record a macro. I found that the macros work a little more "mechanically" than the journals, so I wondered: is it possible to read a part setting in macro environment?
Thanks in advance!
