Real View graphics and rendering quality

I recently built a new dual processor Xeon with a Quadro FX 500 video card. I need to be able to produce high quality renderings as part of sales support.
With Real View enabled at which location do I assign material? Will real view assume the material I assign in Photoworks or is there a specific area for this? It photoworks cable of producting studio grade renderings? Or do i need to take my models out to a 3rd party rendering platform like 3D Max or Rhino? I want my materials (ie.. leather and carpet) to look crisp and real. Photoworks materials dont look that great. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

Photoworks will use the realwiew graphics if you check the "Use Solidworks physical material" checkbox in photoworks options.

Photoworks is very good on "hard" materials, like metals,plastic, wood... the problem is "furry" things, like a lawn or carpet. There is some displacement mapping or something to give materials or textures a rougher feel, but this option is not available to the physical materials, so you will be stuck with assigning materials through Photoworks if you want to use this. Its on the Surface Finish tab in the material editor.

I find I can make rather realistic renderings with photoworks as long as I am staying away from the furry stuff.

You'll need to assign materials in your feature tree. Right-click the "Material" tab and set everything up in there under all the options you've got. This will change what you see in RealView.

PhotoWorks properties will not show up in RealView, but Mindnumb mentioned something to get your RealView materials to work with PhotoWorks.

I get photorealism (or very near it) on current renderings, but have not yet had time to update our web site to show what it can do (yet--coming soon). I've seen this question popping up more and more lately, so I'll try to get my act together and post some new stuff soon.
