Whenever I get a warning that refers to an error with particular set of nodes it always says "....The nodes have been identified in node set XXXXX..."

Where can I find this identified set ? I have looked in the 'data file' but I cant seem to ever find them?

For example..
"Boundary conditions are specified on inactive dof of 10 nodes. The nodes have been identified in node set WarnNodeBCInactiveDof."

So where can I find this set WarnNodeBCInactiveDof ??

Also, if a DOF is inactive, what does this mean?
And I understand that DOFs are numbered (DOF 1, DOF 2...), can I find a list of what each of these are?

Recommended for you

1. Open the result database (odb) in the Visualization module.
2. Go to the display group menu (Tools - Display Group - Create...)
3. In the top left of the dialog there is a group box titled (items). Choose elements (should be the default)
4. In the group box titled "method" choose "element sets"
5. You'll see the various sets listed on the right hand side of the dialog, e.g. WarnElemDistorted or whatever. Highlight the specific named set, and check on the box below that says "highlight items in viewport"
