I need to get a source for tie spacing. I cannot find anything on it.
Example:
If I've got a pedestal or column that is 36" square, I need 8 total verticals around the perimeter (one at each of the four corners, + one at the midpoint of each side). I use a #4 square tie around all of them. But I need to use a diamond shape tie as well, to tie the verticals at the midpoint.
Is there some standard that says how far apart the verticals can be WITHOUT tying in a secondary direction? i.e. where I DON'T need the diamond shape tie?
