Can someone tell me how to calculate rod reversal(also know as crosshead pin loading)and how many degrees of reversal. This is to determine if the crosshead pin is being lubricated properly. Where to find reference material would also be helpful.

I have searched the internet and found no help.

Thanks for your help.

This angle, I do not think can be calculated. Actual minimum Rod Reversal Angle data is afforded on experience basis.
From a manufacturer course, all that I've been provided is that assuming inlet pressure of oil 50psig at X-HD, the minimum angle that connecting rod and horizontal axis may form is 40º.
Thus, maintaining a certain relationship of throws and connecting rod length, this minimum angle can be achieved.
This way relative movement of Pin and X-HD bushing of 40º, will ensure proper lubrication, displacing pin centre forward and backwards.
