As some of you may be aware, the test firing of the recoilless bench weapon was conducted on the weekend. This is an information note to those who have contacted me through this forum.

Although this weapon is in the embryonic stages of development it has already demonstrated that the technology principles developed are viable and able to be exploited.

A standard weapon was also fired to demonstrate the visible difference in recoil between modified and unmodified platforms.

Environment and Tech details were as follows:

Test frame:
Suspended cradle. 4 x metal cable straps supporting the weapon at balanced extremities. (thus no physical intervention by any operator)

Remote trigger: cable operated trigger squeeze

Modified Weapon:
.308/ 7.62mm NATO round
Bolt action repeater
RTI modified Mauser 98 action

Unmodified Weapon:
.308/ 7.62mm NATO round
Bolt action repeater
Standard Mauser 98 action

Filming was done on a standard movie camera as the camera crew were unable to source the relevant hi-speed camera.

Firing Sequence was as follows:

Standard weapon without muzzle brake
Standard weapon with muzzle brake
Modified weapon without muzzle brake
Modified weapon with muzzle brake

Subject to non disclosure issues, one can clearly see that the recoil characteristics of force have been altered in favour of the modified weapon. As the weapon is in suspension there is clearly no intervention by external benefits.
