Could people on the board recommend a program for doing steel, concrete, and timber design? I am primarily looking for software that will solve statically indeterminate beams. I have used Enercalc in the past, but I wasn't that impressed with the program because the program had some bugs in it. Thanks for your responses.

I use STAAD and am happy with it. reiusa.com.
RISA, STRUDL and RAM are other programs I think.

This topic is brought up on a regular basis. The following threads might help if you are looking for a general purpose structural analysis package (which you provbably aren't) but these discussions may mention other programs that could fit the bill.

Once you find something you are interested in do a more specific search and more information will show up. I think there was a good discussion towards the end of last year concerning Enercalc type programs but I can't seem to find it now. Maybe someone else remembers.
