recommended thermal shock tech references

We want to provide inerting options for our equipment. Process operating temp 500 F or less. Inerting medium N2 or C02 brought to near ambient by standard vaporizing equipment. Materials various steels and wear resistant irons. I want to get familiar with any practical literature that exists.

Any suggestions?

After reading your post, I unsure what you are asking. Are you asking for background technical information on what is thermal fatigue damage and conditions that can can result in this damage or are you asking for a ranking of thermal fatigue resistance of various materials or metals?
 
Is he attempting at some surface treatment after creating an inert atmosphere? Wear materials often undergo surface improvements to enhance their service performance.
