UGNX2...

I created drawings from an Assembly file in a computer at work. Then I transfered the files to my home computer, which has a totally different folder structure.

When I open the drawing files, none of the components open (were found), because the components could not be found per the folder structure they were originally created in... at work.

How do I recreate a link... or re-establish the new link per my home PC's folder structure? I tried SUBSTITUTE, but I get an error that says I cannot substitute a file with the same exact file.

I would think there would be a way to REDEFINE the search path of the Assembly component... so it could find it per the new folder structure. How?

Thanks!

Use search paths.
Under File>Options>Load Options
Set the search paths to your new folder structure, then check the box for use search paths. UG will find the parts in their new location.

"Fixed in the next release" should replace "Product First" as the PTC slogan.

Thanks.

I must have done something wrong the first time I tried that. It works now.
