I have a Hydraulic Tank of rectangular construction. The Tank is fitted inside an offshore container during transportation the tank has split along it's weld.

The tank is of basic construction (6 walls), no stiffeners yet..

I am looking for the calculation to determine:
A suitable Dynamic Amplification Factor to apply to the mass of the fluid.
How to implement the effect of baffles on the loading conditions.

Can you point me in the right direction?

I have looked at Pressure Vessel Handbook by Eugene Magyesy, however that appears to be for fixed units.

Thanks

I think the offshore boys use a 3G factor when it comes to forces on things for sea freight.

If this had fluid in it then someone dropped one here.

Baffles won't do anything for you in terms of shock loading.

Maybe that's for lifting things onto a deck - this seems to be a bit lower.
scroll down a bit and you get this
