A co-worker has a UG/NX7.5 solid body feature that has a red circle with a red slash thru it in the Part Navigator, what does that mean?

Thank you in advance for your help.

It means that the 'body' has NO parameters (i.e., it's a dumb solid).

Now this generally occurs as the result of one of two situations, either the body was 'imported' from some other system via IGES/STEP/Parasolid/etc or someone has deliberately removed the parameters from what was previously a parametric model using something like...

Edit -> Feature -> Remove Parametrics...

Note that topologically the model is still valid and it can be used for any and all downstream applications without any concern for the validity or accuracy of the results, just that if you wish to edit the size or shape of this body that you will have to use something like Synchronous Modeling or you will need to create tool bodies which can be be added or subtracted from the 'dumb' body to change it's size/shape.

The solid in question was intentionally imported as a parametrically challenged body. It is used to represent flight hardware in a tool and we do not want any links to the original part.

I just never paid attention to that symbol in the Part Navigator and was asked what it meant from a new employee.

Thanks for your quick answer John, as always your posta are very helpful.
