Red Ground Wire

I've just looked at some shop drawings for some 2400V motor starters calling out ground wire color of red. Did I sleep through some major NEC or NEMA changes?

Maybe the drawing guy was that "red/Green" color blind.

What make and age is this motor starter? ASEA (now ABB) used red for PE back in 1950.

These are brand new and for use in the US. The system is high-resistance grounded, but a ground wire is still a ground wire. I'm doing some further checking, just to satisfy my curiosity.

I think this is just the default wire color used by the manufacturer for all internal wiring. They use sleeves at each end to denote ground wires. This is allowed, at least in the US. I believe that to get actual green insulation is an extra cost option.
