Anyone had any experience of comms problems with Red Lion G3 HMIs?

Depends on what you are trying to talk to? As far as talking between a G3 and the CSMSTRSE I have good luck communicating both Ethernet and 485.

The system involved AB slc 505 cpu. Comms are locking up after high days low weeks (no discernable pattern).

When this happens the plc carries on but the g3 locks. The only way of resetting is to cycle the power to the g3.

I had that problem when i was using a crossover cable. I installed a Hirschmann switch and haven't had anymore problems.

Mine are using a switch (hirschmann spider) the network, the plc and the hmi are plugged into it
