What is the best method of reducing the number of knot points in a curve?

Currently, we stroll along the curve and visually look for high density areas. We then split the curve around that area, delete the high density area, and bridge the curve back together.

Hello

depending on the tolerance you can create a point set on the existing curve and then use the fit curve command to create a new one.
We use this method to smooth the profiles of turbine blades within a tolerance of 0.005mm.
