Hello all,
Is there any international standard (ASHRAE/IDEA) OR any local regulatory authority which specifies to have redundancy for Chillers of District cooling plants?
If so, how much is the % redundancy?
If not, what is the standard industrial practice?
Thanks in advance,

Define your district cooling plant first.

It is common practice to be 100% redundant for maintenance if nothing else.

I don't think a JHA cares unless you cool something that in itself is required by code. It is more up to the owner/operator what they need and feel comfortable with. Maybe some cooled buildings are not mission-critical, maybe everything is.
Chiller plant design is more than N+1. You may have different size chillers etc.
