reefer.blast and holding rooms.

I have afew blast and reefer rooms that is used to store seafood products the copelamatic compressors are displaying poor powerfactor what is thebest method to improve on these type of systems.

... If they are 3phase compressors maybe.

And they don't have VFDs or Soft Starters on them already.

And you are being penalized for having poor power factor.

And you know that the compressors are running unloaded because of a necessity in the design of the rooms, and not as a result of a failure in the control system somewhere.

My point is, this is not a place to get specific answers to vague questions with incomplete information. If you are concerned, hire a local professional electrical engineer to investigate the situation and make specific recommendations based on what is really going on at your site. This by the way is not something that the average electrician will be able to do well. Some, absolutely, but most, not likely.
