Reference for CBR = Su/23

Hi,

I found the relationship of CBR = Su/23 in the thread256-57293. I wonder if anybody can let me know a source of this.

I have recently worked on saprolite in a country of central america. It seems that this relationship is a ok fit. The material is relatively wet and the range of CBR is 2 to 5%.
