Hello,

I would like some information on Fuse Technology. Particularly different classes and what application they are use for. I have a few books that give a good overview on fuses, how they work, peak-let-thru, i2t, but nothing specific on application based. This chapter from the Electrical Handbook discusses some of the difference on CDN and US fuses (which was a bit helpful): It also gives a reference to "Fuse Technology Course Notes” (Gould Shawmut Company, 88 Horner Avenue, Toronto, Canada M8Z-5Y3)

I've been looking for these course notes to see if they are available on the web, but it doesn't seem to be publically offered. I might have to contact them. Anyone see these notes before?

Well Gould Shawmut is now Ferraz Shawmut, so if anyone has it, it would be them.

Bussman is the other big player in low voltage fuses in the US.

Check here:
If the website is trying to sell any of this info, just contact local Bussman rep - they should be able to provide to you at no cost.
