Hello

This is not the first time, I've had this issue in the past and I do not know how to fix this.

I have an assembly - > I bring some parts in & I create new internal part - > For some internal parts I reference of the external ones

- > Everything seems to be working all sketches update if I move one part.

Next I need some parts in a sub assembly - > so i form sub assembly here and dont save it externally - > even now all good everyone happy. I save it - > No problem

Next day - > open it bam - error messages - > mates all gone wrong , Sketches have lost their references and what not & I can't even add relations between assembly parts and sub assembly parts. (I am sure there is a good reason why it wouldnt let me. why?)

But i want it to keep relations when I open it next time because these are one off parts and I will not be using them anywhere else. Is there any other way to come around this issue?

lBut it doesn't happen - the day after that, does it? Your problem is in the 'settings.' However, when this happens to me, I'm too lazy - so I fix it (tell SolidWorks where the files are actually located) - and it doesn't happen the next day.

I changed the options to yes - allow multiple contexts for parts when editing in assembly (not sure why this was ticked off in the first place!? Any expert opinion on why?)

No - Do not create references external to the model (which sort of made sense to what I was doing..)
