Does anyone know a good reference for determining loading to apply on a residential post tensioned slab, or any slab for that matter? The PTI manual and any other reference that I've ever seen has examples that start you off with a declared uniform load value, say 80 psf, and a perimeter line load, say 1500 plf. I am trying to find a reference that shows the steps before this, i.e., given a floor plan with the known materials, how do I determine the loads to apply to the slab, and where to apply them. I know ASCE 7 and all the building codes give the minimum values, but I need the step between looking up the minimum loads in ASCE 7, and applying a uniform load and perimeter load to my slab. Please help if you can.
