Hello!
I have a question about welding methord of catalyst service line.
I know that the catalyst service in petroleum plant smoothly flow in the pipe line. But if the end of pipe is bebel end, when the pipe is applied with buttweding, a part of the parent metal is being occred and it is flowing into pipe line. And It causes some probles to flow smoothly catalyst.

Please let me know about the pipe welding methord for catalyst or recommond some related Code or guide.
Thank's

You did not provide enough information to help you with the welding method. What are the materials of construction for the line? Regarding Code or Standard, try ASME B31.3.

Thank you for your concern.
The material is 2500# 347H stainless steel.
When this line consists of SS, if we follow the ASME B 31.3 code, is it a no problem regardless of Catalyst?
I am waiting for your answer.

ZARD58;
I would suggest using the GTAW process for the butt weld joints, and ER347 filler metal. The remainder of good engineering practices (fabrication, inspection requirements, etc) related to piping could be found in the ASME Piping Code, as mentioned above.
