Reinforced Concrete Stormwater Pits

Hi All
Putting strength requirements aside just wanted to confirm or otherwise that wall for reinforced concrete stormwater pits should be designed to satisfy the requirements of AS3600 Clause 11.7.2. These walls would typically have exposure classifications of B1 or B2 resulting in horizontal reinforcement ratio of 0.006. The reason for the question is that I see pits with mesh used in the walls and that they probably wouldn't meet this requirement for a minimum 150 thick wall with one layer of reinforcement and wanted to check if there was something else I was missing.

I did come across that document and at the time was concerned with the strength design criteria and must have skipped over the relevant section in relation to serviceability.

I think the main point is that they treat it as two way spanning slabs for the walls.

There are pits used by RMS without reinforcements at all.
