Structural
Hello,
I am designing the foundation for a metal frame building landing on concrete piers. My question is for the concrete breakout strength in shear, are there any guidelines for the reinforcement of the pier to transfer all the shear from the anchors? I know that the paper "Design of Anchor Reinforcement for Concrete Pedestals" proposes a strut-and-tie model, but I don't know if this procedure is accepted by the code. I know that "The reinforced concrete design manual volume 2" has some of these examples too, but I haven't been able to buy it. Does anyone know where can I get a few examples for this?
Thanks!
