Hello I have a situation similar to this thread :
I have one rectangular plate, with three smaller square reinforcement plates bolted on the main plate and placed over its longitudinal axis. Now, Mechanica can mesh the reinforcement plates alone fine, but it can't mesh the plate with the other plates. If there's a large gap between them, then it works, but even a small gap and it can't mesh it. Oh and the reinforcement plates are sheetmetal parts with ribs.
For now, I have exported it to an IGES file and imported it as a part. Mechanica can mesh this fine and the model works well. It's as a single part now, but I eventually want an assembly to put contact between the plates.
Thanks in advance
