Hi,

I have a range of UTS values for a steel sample (AISI 1045)and want to know the corresponding value for the Yield Strength. Is there any relation or any multiplication factor that I can make use of?
It's very urgent, so if anyone can help me, it'll be great!

Much Thanks!

A cursory glance at available info shows a wide range depending on manufacturing and heat treatment.

In case like this, you need to choose the lowest possible option because the UTS value for both types according to this is similar, but yield is quite different.

Other docs say similar things.

At worst it looks like SMYS is no less than 60% of UTS, but can be up to 85%.

Be very careful using assumed or approximate data for anything important.

The spec and manufacturing system makes huge difference here.
