Hello All,
I am at a 2 by 1 combined cycle. I have two 4160 VAC power distribution buildings. Inside these buildings I have 31 GE Multilin 750 Feeder management relays, and 10 GE 269Plus Motor Management Relays. I have fiber run throughout the plant, and plan on using two lines for transmitting data. Now my work order only requires me to time sync the relays. I have Powell switch gear, with RS485 comm circuits built in. It would be simple to run Irig-B from satellite receiver through the fiber, convert to RS 485, and wire into GE relays. What I was thinking is could create a network, that would provide time sync and relay operational data back to a master terminal in the tech shop. If there are any guides or best practices to be followed, I really want to improve this system if I can.
Thanks,
Tony
