Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a good christmas and you will have a safe new years. Just wondering if someone can help me out. I have an ASM made up of lets say 2 parts.

Part1.prt
Part2.prt

I've now had to rename Part2.prt to Part3.prt, when i open the ASM file obviously it alerts me that there is a problem. Question is how do i relink it to a renamed part?

It sounds like you are not using any PDM or Windchill product.

In basic Pro/E, it always helps to have the asm open when you rename a part. I would rename part3 back to part2 and try opening the assembly. If the assembly opens, you know you have the part "relinked". With the assembly still open, try renaming the part, saving the part, and saving the assembly.

It's a shame there is no way to simply relink it to a new file when and if the error comes up. I did want to batch rename a heap of files, but if this is the only way to do it then i might have to rethink my process.
