Remedial Actions for Passing Valve

Hi Engineers,

I was searching on remedial actions could be done on in-service passing valve (over passing limit). Is there other options other than replacing the valve?

I could only find standards and codes on valve inspection and testing e.g. API 598, MSS SP-55.

Do not know your situation. New valve bench testing? Valve in service is leaking? Maybe operate valve and try again? Only place you will find information about what to do is to read the valve manufacturers maintenance procedures.

The online resetting of the valve could be tried by a very expert technician. I would not prefer it though.

Make sure you provide an isolation for the PSV in the next turnaround. Put it in the job list immediately.
