Dear all,

I have some DZR scrap. Can I remelt them and pour some parts?
Or is there something special to be done during the casting process?

Thanks,

Herc

Brass, right?
Depends on the lead and arsenic content.
Also depends on the properties that you need in the finished parts.

I would suggest pouring them as ingots before considering any further.

And zinc, the highest vapor pressure (generally). Easy to remember since I PO'd a foundry crew by bring a furnace of brass to a "zinc boil".

So to conclude, I can remelt but should watch superheating it. I ll find the composition tomorrow.
