Hi,
I am trying to launch Abaqus CAE graphically through SSH clients like Putty and MobaXterm. The Abaqus installables are located remotely in a Linux server and i am struggling to launch the application from my windows laptop. I googled around and tried various methods like enabling x11 forwarding in Putty, using -X, -Y command line options for SSH, exporting the display settings of my remote machine and unfortunately could not get it to launch.

I am wondering if i am missing anything here, that would otherwise be a straight forward issue to fix. Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Arun

Two ideas:
- install Abaqus on your laptop and let it use the license from your server
- use remote desktop to access the Linux server's GUI and start Abaqus/CAE from there

Thanks for the ideas. I wonder if i will be able to access license which is managed remotely in the Linux server (which is essentially our university super computer).
I got no problems with remote desktop, which is a linux box and Abaqus CAE starts fine as normal.
Even it fires up from an SSH client like MobaXterm, if i operate from within the University.
It's only that if i work outside of the university network the problem arises.

In such case you should contact a person who manages access to your university's server. Abaqus during installation will ask you for license server address (it can be specified after installation as well). There should be no problem on Abaqus side but universities tend to have quite strict rules regarding access to their network.
