Remove studio lighting

I have a part that I asked a colleague to apply a decal and see if it would work ok.
Well, it did, but now saving takes forever and says "processing lights" during save for 75% of the save time.
I deleted the decal and associated info, as well as run a part cleanup, but that doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

Is the part in studio or ray tracing mode? If so, try switching back to the normal shaded mode before saving.
Also, I don't know if this will help, if you go to menu -> view -> visualization -> basic lights... (or advanced lights), there is an option to reset the lights to the default settings.
