I have a rendered assembly. Every time I make an animation - a time consuming process at best - I lose material definitions for over half my parts.
My System:
Solidworks 2003 SP0.0
Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Version 5.0.2195
Total Physical Memory 523,568 KB
Available Physical Memory 194,188 KB
Total Virtual Memory 1,212,208 KB
Available Virtual Memory 574,652 KB
Page File Space 688,640 KB

Any clues, I'm new at this rendering/animation thing.

I'm not sure what could be causing that. (I've not had success with all my animations following the paths I've given them.)

One thing you may want to check is something within PhotoWorks. Under the PhotoWorks > Options menu, check what you have selected in the Material tab. You should check "overwrite SW properties on select/edit" and not check "apply SW properties for render". (I got this from a killer tutorial on decals by Ed Eaton--HIGHLY recommend it for other useful tips.)

You have to watch out how and when you apply your materials, sometimes it can be overridden by the how and when you applies the material. Make sure it is rendering correctly in Photoworks before you make the animation. Otherwise follow the above links to Ed Eatons stuff. He’s a master to Photoworks IMO.
