Dear all.
API 653 Section 9, and paragraphs 9.12.1 & 9.12.3 are hereby referred.
Case: We have a double deck EFR that is currently leaking. Tank is empty, and floating test of the roof showed more than half of the pontoon segments.
My question is, can non-metally repair of the leaking roof be done and still be considered as compliant to 653 with regard to the paragraphs mentioned above?
It seems that para 9.12.1 says any method of repair is acceptable but for pontoons in 9.12.3, only welding repair is allowed.
I understand that 9.12.1 talks about EFR and 9.12.3 talks about pontoons in double deck.
Thoughts, anyone?
Thank you very much.
Hanafi.
