Hi,
after UG-99 hydrostatic leak testing [and supplemental gas leak testing (sniffer)], a pressure vessel has the first sealing surface of the connections used for pressure test exposed during dismantling.
There are scratches on such faces happening at this moment.
After repair of those faces (remachining (turning) of the sealing face, less than 1 mm thick metal removal; thickness for pressure requirement is still OK), is a hydrostatic leak testing mandatory? Is a gas leak testing sufficient?
I cannot find specifics in the ASME BVPC.VIII.1 on this matter.
best regards
Cyril
