Replacement for Simplify to turn models inside-out? 3

Hello. We've just upgraded from NX4 to NX6 and I see the Simplify command has vanished.

I used to use Simplify quite a lot to prepare models for CFD analysis, starting with a model of a component and generating a model of the airspace inside the component.

Suppose I had a hollow part, like a bottle. I could use Simplify to remove all the faces on the outside, keep all the faces on the inside and specify one face to close up the "neck" of the bottle. The output of the command would be a solid in the shape of the air inside the bottle.

I cannot figure out how to do this with the new "Synchronous Modeling" commands. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks guys, that did the trick.

(I did search for previous threads on this topic, but didn't turn up either of those for some reason.)

As far as searches go, I have a feeling that it searches only threads that are archived - but I really don't know for sure.

I have much better luck with the google search box near the top left of the page. If you use "UG/NX" as one of the search terms, it helps limit results to this forum.

another way to effectively search eng-tips forums is to use the site-specific search functionality of a general google search. At enter your keywords followed by "site:eng-tips.com" and it will search only eng-tips for your keywords.

potrero, that's exactly what the custom google search box does on this page.
