Gas Injection is to be carried out at 3000 psig by compressing the associated gases. SDV is proposed on the downstream of pig launcher (at plant) as well as at the upstream of pig receiver at well site on the gas injection pipeline. I am of the view that two check valves will do the job and does not require and SDV at the well site. This option is also given in API-14C. Would appreciate your expert opinion.

10 Check valves could not replace a positive shutoff valve and mixing check valves and pigs is just plain asking for trouble. Don't even think about it.

I strongly agree with BigInch - do not eliminate an ESDV!

Check valves are not a positive form of control and in any case, you only have single directional control. You must have control of the fluids in the facility at the battery limits.
