Dear all,

Who can recommend a method of creep fatigue analysis of pressure vessel, fatigue analysis at the temperature in creep temperature range. ASME VIII-2 fatigue analysis is only for the temperature below creep temperature. Thank you.

One option is in Code Case 2605 (if your material is covered by the Code Case). Otherwise, there may be other nuclear or non-nuclear Code Cases. And Section III, Division 5 has rules for a few materials. Finally, API 579-1/ASME FFS-1 also has techniques.

If you haven't done this before, I would highly recommend hiring an expert, because there are far too many nuances that can't be captured by procedures or rules.

Thank you, TGS4.

Let me to provide more information below,
Tube sheet heat exchanger, type AEM.
materials: shell-SA-387Gr11CL2 (creep temperature is 454 deg.C), Tube sheet/flanges-SA-182F11CL2 (creep tewmperature is 492 deg.C).
Design pressure: shell side: 22 bar. Tube side: 17 bar
Design temperature: shell side: 490 deg.C. Tube side: 545 deg.C
Shell ID=1300 mm, L=12,000 mm.
Evaluate the Creep fatigue life (how may cycles allowed).
Design life 20 years.

it will much appreciate if any idea for creep fatigue analysis on this heat exchanger or an expert recommended? Thank you.

I'm less interested in the design temperature than the operating temperature. Do you have a good deception of the operating cycle?
