Hi

I've modeled an unanchored tank (shell elements) resting on ground (solid elements). I have given a seismic record to the ground and I want to get the base shear and overturning moment of the tank as my history outputs during the analysis. My question is which categories should I tick when requesting the outputs? Right now I've ticked "total forces due to frictional stress (CFS1/CFS2/CFS3)"for base shear and "total moment about origin due to contact pressure (CMN1/CMN2/CMN3)" for overturning moment but I'm not sure if it is correct. btw I'm using explicit solver.

For the base shear I would sum the horizontal forces at the base. You can also sum moments. Simply save nodal history output for forces and moments and then integrate appropriate components. The variables that you selected should be fine. Both total contact forces and moments are available either as caused by frictional stress or by pressure (or both).
