I really would appreciate any advice given. I have just aquired a small compressor for my workshop. The problem I have is that the compressor had been disconnected from its wiring in order to be painted prior to it being offered for sale. I am a motor engineer(cars/trucks) and have limited knowledge of mains electric motors. The manufacturers plate is missing so there is no identification to the motor(Sorry folks)I do know it is a single phase motor with thermatrip overload protection and the terminals are marked thus. The wires are faded so could be totally different.

There is also a start/run capacitor with two wires that have also ben disconnected.
On the compressor is a teddington pressure control with three terminals LP HP and C
Could someone please advise as to which terminals the capacitor should be wired and which terminals the mains are conected to and how is the pressure control wired? Sorry to be so longwinded I thank any response in advance.

It may take a trip to a motor-repair shop to sort out without risking damage to the motor.
