Are there any regulatory/code requirements for construction of MCC room doors or maybe even best practice safety guidelines? A quick search showed threads on locking doors and number of doors but nothing on door construction.

For example, if any level of fire/explosion resistance is required. I'm located in Canada.

The equipment inside these MCC rooms is fairly standard - 2300V switchgear, 460V contactors, 2300V transformers etc. - all are metal enclosed panels.

I appreciate any comments!

Fire ratings, if any, would be based on the building and fire codes, at least in the US. The NEC has requirements for means of egress out of electrical equipment areas and when two means of egress are required. The NEC does not require a separate room for electrical equipment. This assumes there are not exposed live parts, such as in a substation.
