Hi,
Got a quick question I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with?
I'm analysing some aging data for a R&D plug flow reactor; Its a residence time data set, based on the pulse injection method.
we're happy with the analysis of the outlet curve but due to the nature of the beast (Many methods were tried apparently...)the inlet pulse isn't ideal; Its a sharp peak but there's distinct tailing; we're assuming therefore that the tailing on the inlet pulse will add tailing to the outlet pulse...so we were wondering if there were any way(s) to factor this in to the outlet (i.e. remove / reduce its effect) trace?
The original unit from which this data was obtained has been dismantled for other R&D projects since the data was obtained a few years ago and hence the tests cant really be repeated and/or the injection method improved...
We've searched and read around the subject of RTDs in PFRs (Levenspiel et al) but cant find any method to account for the non ideal inlet pulse; any help/pointing to relevant texts etc would be most welcome!
